The Christ in us, the hope of our glory, shall be the realisation of our glory in Christ.
“But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was, how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more with glory? For if the ministry of condemnation has glory, much more does the ministry of righteousness abound in glory. For indeed what had glory, in this case has no glory because of the glory that surpasses it. For if that which fades away was with glory, much more that which remains is in glory. Therefore having such a hope, we use great boldness in our speech, and are not like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the sons of Israel would not look intently at the end of what was fading away. But their minds were hardened; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed in Christ. But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:7-18)
Can you visualise the glory of God that was shining from the face of Moses, a man just like you and I?
If the glory of God was made manifest on the face of Moses, fading as it was, such that the sons of Israel could not look intently at his face; and if the ministry of the Spirit will not fail to be of greater glory, can you imagine the rising glory that will manifest on the face of every member of the body of Christ who attains to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ?
“Six days later Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.” (Matthew 17:1-3)
When Jesus was transfigured in glory in the days of His flesh, His face shone like the sun – a glory that was far greater in intensity than the one that was on the face of Moses.
Do you think that our faces can be transformed from glory to glory into the same image and likeness of Christ’s glory in the days of our flesh in these last days?
We certainly can, as long as we walk as Jesus walked in the sanctification of the Word of truth and of the Spirit of truth.
“the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” (1 John 2:6)
“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth… For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.” (John 17:17, 19)
Since we have this great hope through progressive sanctification, let us arise with boldness of speech, intensity of faith, indomitableness of the spirit, passion of the soul, and unyielding discipline of the body, to walk in a manner worthy of our glorious calling, until we can say, “Come, Lord Jesus, for we have been made perfect in Your glorious image, and we are ready for the marriage.”
Therefore, let us yield to the workmanship of God, and be transformed into the same image of the Lord from glory to glory.
Be the poiēma of God!
