When Jesus broke the bread which symbolised His body, He gave the broken pieces to us to share as individual parts of the body. So, what does it mean to be individual parts of the body, and what are we supposed to remember when we partake the holy communion?
Ephesians 4:15-16
but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
The whole body, with Christ as head, and body-members being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, is the saviour of itself.
In order words, the body-community is the saviour of the body-community itself, and every body-member is a saviour of another body-member in the organised body-community.
If the foot is wounded, it is not the head that dresses the foot but the fingers moved by the palms, wrists, elbows, etc., of both arms in coordination by the head that dress the wound and save the foot.
If an attacker is seeking to splash the face with acid, it is the legs that carry the face and the rest of the body-members away from the attacker, as they cannot save themselves without the legs no matter how blessed and gifted they are.
If the body is hungry, every body-member must be fitted and held together by what every body-member supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, to feed the body, be it in season or out of season for each individual part.
1 Corinthians 12:21
And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.”
Therefore, no individual “toes”, not even a family clan of the “foot”, is self-sufficient in itself, or is gifted enough to prevail against the enemies by itself, without the other body-members supplying it or being its saviour. Hence, individualism, self-determination, and self-preservation that say, “Just me and the Spirit alone will overcome,” or “Every family clan must determine its own destiny,” are deceptions in the body of Christ.
The devil has planned such self-centred deceptions in the body of Christ because he knows that it will prevent the rising of the “exceedingly great army” that God is joining and raising up for revival and prevailing in the last days.
Ezekiel 37:7-10
So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them. Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.””’ So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
When bone is joined to its bone, sinew to its sinew, body part to its body part, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, there will be revival of the Spirit in the church for last-day conquests as an exceedingly great army.
In other words, the operational dynamics of body-members in a body-community is the precedent ingredient and foreordained trigger for revival of the Spirit in the last days.
So, do not just pray or prophesy for revival, and do not jump from meetings to conferences seeking or activating revival. Rather, be the proper joining and effectual working as a body-member in a body-community for the final latter-rain outpouring of the Spirit “from the four winds”, as Ezekiel and Joel prophesied (c.f. Joel 2:23-32).
Not only is the fact that every body-member is a saviour of another body-member in an organised body-community, a body-community is the saviour of another body-community in the wider body-domain, just like the churches in Macedonia were the saviour of the church in Jerusalem during famine through offerings organised by Apostle Paul.
Therefore, we must understand the concept of body-members in a body-community in order to partner with Jesus to build the ekklesia that Jesus is building (c.f. Matthew 16:18), so that our salvation (or deliverance) in the last days will come through the body-community of Christ, just as Christ had intended when He broke His body into many individual parts for us to partake in true communion and proper working as one body.
